All three runners finished in the Top-25 at NCAA Regionals
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Three USF runners – Eva Krchova, Elena Burkard and Jose Madera -- were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team today, marking the first time in school history USF has placed both male and female runners on the all-region team in the same year.
Krchova and Burkard finished 19th and 20th, respectively, at the NCAA West Regional on Saturday setting personal bests in the 6K on the Jefferson Park Golf Course layout. Krchova finished with a time of 20:09.11 while Burkard covered the course in 20:09.23.
USF finished fifth in the event with 151 points, trailing only top-10 programs Oregon, Stanford, Arizona and Washington.
Madera also set a personal best in the men's 10K event, turning in a time of 30:14.48 to finish 24th pacing the Dons to a 12th place finish in the team competition.
