SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's tennis director Peter Bartlett announced the signing of Rita Colyer to a national letter of intent. The newcomer is set to enroll at USF for the 2018-19 year.
Colyer's tennis resume speaks for itself as far as what she can bring to the Dons roster. She was an International Tennis Federation quarter finalist and semi-finalist. Colyer also was a Provincial doubles champion, as well as a OFFSA doubles champion.
The Canadian native was a top-10 finisher in the county's national rankings.
Off-the-court, Colyer earned academic honors every year of her schooling, from freshman to senior class. In addition to those accolades, she was awarded an English award and a Health Care award.
COACH'S QUOTE
"We are really excited to have Rita join our USF tennis family. We feel she will add some needed depth to our line-up and team for next season. She has been doing a great job competing this season in a lot of ITF tournaments and can become an impact player for our team going forward. Based on meeting her and spending time during the recruiting process we feel she has a great attitude and work ethic which will be a great fit for our program.
