Free Parking Information
Parking is available free of charge two hours prior to tip-off until one hour after the conclusion of the game in any campus lot, with the exception of designated green parking spots at the top of Hayes-Healy garage on Golden Gate Avenue adjacent to the gymnasium. Campus parking lots of choice include the lot at the Koret Center, located at the corner of Turk and Parker and the Hayes-Healy underground garage, located on Golden Gate Ave. just past the Sobrato Center. SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's basketball team wraps up its season-long five game homestand on Tuesday night, when the Dons host UC Santa Barbara for a non-conference game starting at 7:00 p.m.
 
The Dons look to make it four in a row after downing visiting Sonoma State 78-55 last Tuesday.  USF shot a season-best 50.9 percent from the field against Sonoma State and had four players finish in double figures.  Erik Poulsen and Jimbo Lull joined Souley Boum and Chase Foster in double-digits in the win.  Poulsen scored a season-best 14 points in 14 minutes of play, while Lull scored a season-high 10 points  in 12 minutes of action.  For the second-consecutive contest, USF led wire-to-wire and hasn't trailed since 4:11 in the first half against Saint Francis.
 
ABOUT THE DONS
  • USF shot over 50 percent from the field against Sonoma State, going 28-for-55 from the floor, a season-high.The last time USF shot 50 percent or better was against Santa Clara in the opening round of the WCC Tournament last year on Mar. 4, 2017.
  • Four players scored in double figures for the Dons against the Seawolves, the last time USF had four players score 10 or more in a game was against Rice in the first round of the CBI on Mar. 15, 2017.
  • USF has outrebounded its opponent in every contest this season, against Sonoma State last Tuesday, the Dons were +6.0 over the Seawolves, grabbing 42 boards, no player grabbed 10 or more rebounds, three players grabbed six, 11 players grabbed at least one.
  • The Dons are currently averaging 73.2 points per contest, which ranks eighth in the WCC.They are holding their opponents to 64.2 points per contest which is second in the conference.
  • USF is shooting 43.0 percent from the field, going 105-for-244.From inside the arc, the Dons are shooting 51.4 percent from the floor, going 72-for-140.
  • The Dons are currently in the top-half of the WCC in nine statistics, notably, they are second overall in scoring defense (64.2), 3-point field goal defense (21.4), and rebounds per game (40.2).
  • USF has employed 14 players this season, with nine players playing more than 10 minutes per contest.Jordan Ratinho is tops on the team with 31.0 minutes per game, no other Dons has more than 30 minutes per contest.
 
ABOUT UC SANTA BARBARA
  • UCSB will enter Tuesday's game with a 4-2 record. The 4-2 start is the program's best since the 2011-12 season when it also began the year with a 4-2 record through six games. Last season, the Gauchos were 1-5 after six games.
  • The Gauchos opened their campaign with an 85-66 win over North Dakota State on Saturday, Nov. 11, before falling at Pittsburgh on Nov. 15, 70-62, and at No. 16 Texas A&M on Nov. 17. Last week, UCSB recorded wins at Pepperdine (92-84), vs. Montana in Malibu (80-73) and at home against Prairie View A&M (69-66).
  • The wins over Pepperdine and Montana were part of the Progressive Legends Classic. Santa Barbara is coming off of an injury and eligibility-riddled 2016-17 season in which it went 6-22 overall and 4-12 in the Big West Conference.
  • UCSB is 2-2 in games away from home through four games this year and that's one more win than all of last year. Last year, Santa Barbara was 1-14 away from home in 2016-17, going 1-12 in true road games and 0-2 in neutral site games. In fact, the Gauchos were winless away from home until defeating Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo in the final game of the regular season.
