WSOC | Dons Add Standout Defender For 2018

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's soccer team got a huge addition with the early enrollment of defender Catherine Hill out of East High School in Salt Lake City.  Hill, a four-year letter winner for the Leopards, will be able to compete for the Dons in the spring season.
 
"We're excited to have Catherine in and get an early start with the rest of the team," said head coach Jim Millinder. "I think this will hugely benefit her and her development in getting spring games under her belt.  She's an outstanding player and can play multiple roles for us defensively.  We are excited to have her."
 
The highly decorated defender lettered all four years for head coach Rudy Schenk, accumulating 33 career points, scoring 14 goals with five assists.  Hill anchored the Leopards defense and helped guide her tem to a 47-19-7 record during her tenure.
 
Hill was recently named to the to the United Soccer Coaches All-American team following a brilliant senior campaign.  She was also named to the Salt Lake Tribune Class 5A First Team All-State Team after scoring a career-high five goals with three assists in 18 games.
 
As a sophomore, Hill was named to the Deseret News 4A All-State First Team, where she scored three goals for the Leopards. As a freshman, she played in 16 games, tallying nine points, with four goals and an assist.
 
Hill will enroll in the spring semester and will be eligible to play with the Dons in their spring competitions..
