RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team was wrapping up its second round of the day when darkness crept in and halted play. After one round, the Dons are currently in fifth with a team score of 292 going 4-over at the par-72 Farms Golf Club, site of The Farms Invitational hosted by San Diego.
Toby Briggs finished the opening round tied for third after carding a 3-under 69. Briggs tallied four birdies on the day, the lone blemish a bogey on the par-5 12
th hole.
The remainder of the Dons all finished within four strokes of each other.
Soren Lind finished the first 18 holes tied for 24
th with a 1-over 73.
Alex Chin was right behind him with a 2-over 74 which had him tied for 28
th. The highlight of the day belonged to Chin who had an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole.
Henry Chung and
Tim Widing finished tied for 39
th and tied for 46
th respectively. Chung finished with five birdies in the opening round but still carded a 4-over 76. Widing finished with a 5-over 77.

"Overall today was a good day," said head coach
Jack Kennedy. "We definitely had our struggles, but we dealt with adversity with a lot of maturity and that has us left us with a chance to win a tournament. Our team is in a very good place and we are excited for tomorrow's opportunity."

The Dons will return to action when the second round wraps up at 8:30 a.m., the final 18 holes will begin shortly after that.
