The University of San Francisco men's basketball returns to the postseason on Wednesday when they host Colgate in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational. Wednesday's game will be streamed live on TheW.tv with

TOMORROW'S GAME
On Wednesday, the Dons will play in a postseason tournament for the 26
th in the
program's storied history. In just the sixth time in the building's legendary history, the War Memorial at the Sobrato Center will host a postseason tournament game when Colgate comes to town. The Dons have been off for the last week and a half after being eliminated in the WCC Tournament in the semifinals by top-seed Gonzaga last Monday. USF enters the CBI with an overall mark of 18-15.
Colgate enters War Memorial with an overall record of 18-13. They finished 12-6 in the Patriot League and were runners up in the Patriot League tournament, falling to Bucknell 83-54 on Mar. 7. The 19 wins is a school record for the Raiders who are playing in a postseason tournament for the for the first time in 22 years. Head coach Matt Langel was named the 2018 Patriot League Coach of the Year. Their appearance in the Patriot League Championships was the first since 2008. Four players are averaging more than 10 points per game, leading the team is sophomore Will Rayman who earned second team honors. He's averaging 14.7 points per game and shoots 42.4 percent from beyond the arc.
THE SERIES
The Dons have Raiders have two times previously, with USF owning a 2-0 advantage in the series. The two teams first met up on Dec. 23, 1981 with the Dons winning 65-62. The series resumed on Dec. 3, 1993 at the St. Joseph's Classic in Philadelphia with USF winning 101-70. At War Memorial the Dons are 1-0 against the Raiders.
