SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's track and field team jumps six spots in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll to No. 21 overall.
 
The Dons' 21st overall ranking is the highest in program history, and the highest ranking mid-major school in the country.

"We are excited about how the outdoor season has begun and appreciate the fact that we are the highest ranked mid major in the country," said USF head coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "However, right now, our focus is on continuing to improve and getting as many people as we can to the National Championships."
 
USF has been buoyed by excellent performances in the past two weeks, beginning at the Hornet Invitational. While in Sacramento, Marie Bouchard continued her outstanding start to the season with a personal best time of 4:19.28 in the 1,500-meters. She also earned a win in her heat, as well. Joining Bouchard in the top-10 was Magdalena Dias, Frederique Latraverse and Josephine Brysting.
 
Samantha Lind earned a win in her heat in the 400m, and overall, besting her previous school record in the event with a time of 55.21.
 
This past weekend at the Stanford Invitational, Marie Bouchard added another school record to her name in the 3,000m steeplechase. Her time of 9:47.03 placed her second in her heat and was marked as the fifth fastest time in the world.
 
Next up the Dons will travel to Azusa, Calif. to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational on Apr. 13.
