Matt Hiserman joined the USF baseball staff in August of 2011 after being named the team’s Director of Program Development.
Hiserman finished his collegiate baseball career for the Dons this past spring, helping the Dons to the 2011 West Coast Conference championship. The right-handed pitcher finished his career sixth in program history in career strikeouts with 176. Hiserman was a four-time WCC Pitcher of the Week, two-time WCC all-academic selection and an honorable mention all-WCC selection in 2008.
“Matt was a wonderful student-athlete at USF and we are blessed to have him on our staff after he completed such a great playing career,” Giarratano said. “Having him now build our program from an operational standpoint will be great for our program.”
Hiserman graduated with a finance degree in the spring of 2010 and began in USF’s Sports Management masters’ program in January of 2011. His anticipated graduation from the Sports Management program is December of 2012.
In addition to playing for the Dons, Hiserman has also coached camps and coached in the Junior Dons youth program. This summer, he was the associate head coach for the Fontanetti Athletics summer league team in San Jose.
“To have been part of the USF baseball family was such a privilege and now to be welcomed as a member of the staff is an exceptional honor,” Hiserman said. “I’m looking forward to learning a whole new side of baseball from this exceptional staff and aiding in the future success of the program.”
