Sjogrell graduated from USF with a Degree in Business and now works as a District Recruiter for H&M in San Jose, CA.
In the second round, however, the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club's team surprised USF with a 4-1 thumping. USF's only goal came late in the second fifteen minute half with a rocket from Swede Anders Sjogrell which ricocheted off the opposing goalie's outstretched hands into the top of the net. Goalie Andre Scheitzer said, "There were three reasons why we weren't able to win. Thev had a couple ot ex-professional players who were used to playing indoor—we weren't. They caught us off guard a lot when we didn't get back on defense quick enough, and some of our players slowed our offense down too much by not passing enough."
The Dons and Pioneers staged a classical defensive struggle on the pitch at Negoesco Stadium Tuesday night. The two teams played evenly with much of the action at midfield. With the match tied 1-1, Cato Andersen leaped to take an Anders Sjogrell pass over the outstretched arms of Pioneer goalkeeper Jordy Drake for the game winner. USF's Thierry Blanson put in his own rebound right before the intermission to open the Dons scoring (TheFoghorn).
