Tor Sveen was a native of Oslo, Norway, and played from 1982-1986. At the end of his USF career, he ranked 10th All-Time in goals (33), seventh in assists (24) and eighth in points (90). His 17 goals in 1982 tied for eighth on the school’s All-Time career list. His nine assists in 1986 are tied for 11th All-Time.
Newcomers Gunar Kvarne and Martin Iverson, both from Sweden, join an already potent mid-field which includes Vidar Larsen (Sr.), Thierry Blanson (So.), Tevis Ignacio (Sr.), Per Haugvalstad (Jr.), Enrique Ingles (So.) and Singh Sandu (Sr.). Larsen was the team's second leading goal-getter last year with 9, and Haugvalstad was second on the assist list with 5, to go along with his 6 tallies. Coach Negoesco hopes for scoring help from freshmen Tor Sveen, from Norway, and Robert Magalhaes, from Boston. Returning are Glen Van Staatum (Sr.) and Phil Anton (Sr.), making this a very dangerous group of strikers. Van Straatum, co-captain along with Neilsen, collected 6 goals and 2 assists last season. Newilsen himself scored five times from his sweeper position.
Finally, "Norway's finest" will spearhead the attack on the opposing goal. The three starters on the forward line who should pile up a lot of points on the forward line are Tor Sveen. Helge Myrengett. and Theo Narvestad, while freshman Ola Henmo will see action off the bench (TheFoghorn).
