George Vukic grew up in a Croatian household in Northern California. He played his youth soccer at Juventus and Peninsula FC, playing in a CA Youth U16 State Championship in 1982. Upon graduating from Woodside High School, he played his collegiate soccer the University of San Francisco, where he won a Joe Allen Award for Most Valuable Player in 1985. At USF he appeared in three NCAA playoff tournaments. In 1986-1987, he played one season in the German 3rd Division at FC Uberherrn. After finishing off his collegiate soccer career, George played at Hellas, SF Italian Athletic Club, and the Scots in the San Francisco semi-pro leagues.

George began his coaching career in 2001 on Bainbridge Island, coaching numerous boys and girls teams at Bainbridge FC. George also coached seven seasons at Bainbridge High School, winning a WIAA State Championship in 2012. George acquired his USSF “B” license in 2008. Since then, he’s had stints at Dos FC, WestSound FC (later becoming Kitsap Alliance), and Washington Premier FC, before finally landing at Seattle United in 2017. Since then, George has coached teams to state championships, numerous RCL divisional championships, as well as taking his B03 team to a US Youth national tournament in 2019.George spent his first four years at Seattle United as Programs Director before moving to the Junior Academy Director in 2021 (SeattleUnited).
