David Meliah was born on March 11, 1977 in Walla Walla, WA. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 52nd Round in 1996 but stayed at Walla Walla Community College. He transferred to USF and played baseball for the Dons. He graduated from USF with a Bachelors in Business in 1998.

At 6' 3", 180 lbs, he was drafted following graduation by the Texas Rangers in the 17th round of the 1998 MLB Draft and played with them until 2003. He batted left and threw right. After professional baseball, he graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelors in Educaiton in 2007. He was then a Head Baseball Coach and a Sports information Director for the WWCC. He works as a Recreation Coordinator for the City of Walla Walla, WA.
