John Tomasello was born February 24, 1970 and played baseball for the Dons. At 6' 2", 215 lbs, he batted and threw left, and played first base and outfield. After graduation in 1992, he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 12th Round of the 1992 MLB Amateur Draft.

In left field again this year will be the teams best power hitter, John Tomasello. While leading all USF outfielders with a .951 fielding percentage, Tomasello also led the team with nine homers. With a .275 average last year, Coach Bowman felt Tomasello could also challenge for several school batting records in his senior season. "John has major league power—there's no question about that," Bowman said. "And if he can cut down his strikeouts (also a team leading 55 in 1991), he will be a big factor for us."

USF jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a home run by left fielder John Tomasello, one of the league's top sluggers with a .619 batting average who has hit safely in his first five games (TheFoghorn).
