In fact, if one doesn't count 6*1" center Lynne Heimann, who sat out last season as a red shirt due to a knee injury, there are only two newcomers on the entire squad. They are Karyn Bolger, a 6' freshman forward from San Pedro, and Bev Rowe, a 6' 1" freshman forward from Santa Rosa. The schedule for this season is a tough one. So when college basketball practice opened Wednesday across the country, the emphasis in Memorial Gymnasium was on defense and rebounding to compensate for the lack of height.
