"Clipper" Smith will be in Sam Francisco around Dec 14, it was announced by the Athletic Department. This is the man who will lead the Dons on the road to athletic supremacy. However, a few fellows have caught his eye. These cagemen are Don Giesen and Sherman Heaney, forwards; Johnny Desmond, Walt Kolling, and Ivan Slavich at guards. The Hilltoppers expect to play major-league competition this season, although there has been some difficulty over drawing up a schedule. Teams like St. Mary's and Santa Clara have not yet decided whether or not they will enter the cage wars. By the time of the first game in January, however, the situation will be solved (TheFoghorn).
