Douglas John Hupke was born on September 29, 1965 and was an outfielder for the Dons at USF. He was 5' 10", 175 lbs., threw right, and batted right and left. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1987 in the 44th Round. He graduated from USF in 1988 in Psychology and earned a Master's in Counseling in 1992 at SF State.  He is currently an Associate Vice President at San Jose State University.

The Don's only run came when USF shortstop Steve Berriatua doubled to lead off the fifth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Doug Hupke. Dons took the lead for good in the third when Gaggero and McDonald singled, while Morales and Hunt walked, which was followed by a RBI game winning single by Steve Berriatua. Doug Hupke provided the insurance runs with his fleet feet by stealing four bases. His strikeout in the 4th was turned into a three-base nightmare for Hayward. After the catcher dropped the third strike, Hupke took first, stole second and third, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Angelo Martin. The fourth run came after a walk, another pair of stolen bases, and a walk by Hayward's pitcher which awarded Hupke home plate. That's really manufacturing the runs when a strike out and a walk turn into game-clinching runs (TheFoghorn).
