The three other major additions to the Dons squad this season are Sue Cottier, Donna Price, and Gloria Smith. As junior college transfer students, all will supply the needed experience and control on the court. Cottier and Price will fill center and forward slots, respectively to provide rebounding strength for the Dons. Smith is expected to fill the point guard position with her excellent game controlling ability.

Foghorn Softball Correspondent Mike Rice's juggling act has been a smash hit so far this season, but unfortunately he will have to give an encore performance. Rice's softball team has been hit by several key injuries and the situation wasn't helped by having four players playing basketball. This week those four players, Gloria Smith, Mathaline Otis, Donna Price, and Grainne Murray all rejoined the softball team. But now Rice has lost the services of shortstop Lori Grech, who is in the hospital with a bad back. To make matters worse, star pitcher Shelley Liebespeck suffered a slight injury in her shoulder that prevents her from throwing overhand. As a result, she can hit and pitch, but cannot play the outfield where she won All-Conference honors last year. Despite all this, USF's strong pitching held up and the Dons came into this week riding a four game winning streak that hiked their record to 8-2 (TheFoghorn).
