Jason Zachos played baseball for the Dons from 1998 to 1999 at USF. at 5' 10", 180 lbs., he batted and threw right. A native of San Mateo, he first attended Cañada College prior to transferring. He currently teaches at Sacred Heart Preparatory and is Head Coach of freshman baseball.
In the first game, the Gaels and Dons exchanged runs throughout the game, until the ninth inning. With the score 6-6 in the top of the ninth inning, the Gaels Rashad Nichols connected for a two-run single off losing pitcher Jason Zachos, proving the Gaels victorious.
Now that the pitching staff has been revitalized with the return of key starter Chris Thogersen, and relievers Paul Deffner and Jason Zachos, USF will once again be challenging for the top spot in the WCC. "Any time you add three pitchers like that, you're going to have a new outlook," said Bozied (TheFoghorn).
