Jose Gonzales graduated in 1957 with a Degree in Business. He played soccer for the Dons all four seasons and was a member of the Hispanic American Club. He was a member of the 1956 Championship soccer team under Gus Donoghue.
In the preliminary game, the Don B's pounded out a 7-1 decision over St. Ignatius. Walt Ermakoff intercepted an S.I. kick-out from the goal, and drove in 15 yards for the first score. One minute before the first half, Gonzales scored USF's second marker on a pass from Lionel Fisher (TheFoghorn).
