Other men in the field events are Ernie Loebbecke, who toys with the iron ball, and Phil Moschella, pole vaulter and hurdler. (TheFoghorn). Ernie Loebbecke and Elmer Berglund are the two huskiest men on the squad and hence are entered in the shot and discus. They are good for points in all the meets if one can judge from their present performance. For Bob was pressed by a husky athlete who came within two inches of his longest put. Bob won the event with a throw of 41 feet 11 inches. Loebbecke and Berglund were also entered in this event but did not succeed in scoring (Ignatian News).

John O'Marie, captain and center, time after time crashed through to spill the Broncos' play before they had fairly started. Loebbecke, Ososke and Higuera were obstinate opponents of Bronco attempts to gain yardage, but the better Santa Clara offense could not be stopped by the Ignatian defense, no matter how vastly improved (TheFoghorn).
