The next Sunday, Ed Brown's arm windmilled the pigskin 359 yards through and over the Detroit defense. Twice he hit Merrill Peacock with arcs that had 60-yard chords on the ground. Down in L. A., the season terminated sadly for eight senior gridders, and a host of juniors and sophs. This 28-40 decision left Roy Barni, Gene Sweeters, Dick Stanfel, Don Ramatici, Dolph Lubamersky, Art Alois, Ken White, and Gay Quandt with bitter memories of their last USF game (TheFoghorn).

The Dons were supposed to conquer Loyola and end their season gloriously. They didn't. In command once more at half-time, US dropped the contest, 28-40.

Roy Barni, Gene Sweeters, Dick Stanfel, Art Alois, Don Ramatici, Ken White and Gay Quandt made the sad journey homeward from Los Angeles, The termination of their USF careers had been bitter to stomach, but the year as a whole was marked with achievement. Won seven, lost four. A rather presentable entry in the 1950 record book (TheDon).
