At 5' 8", Fiona MacDonald played soccer for the Dons from 1998 to 2000. She was a native of Ojai, CA and attended Ventura City College prior to USF.
Defender Fiona MacDonald attacks against San Jose St. during Tuesday's comeback victory. The Dons recovered from a 1-0 deficit, and beat the Spartans in overtime, 2-1. "Winning definitely boosts our confidence," said Terbush. Going into the next couple of games we will have more confidence and we'll go in with more energy." Defender Fiona MacDonald also suffered an injury during the game, and was unable to come back into the match. Until she had to leave the game, MacDonald's aggressive play had an enormous impact as her defensive tactics resulted in stopping numerous shot attempts by the Spartans.
Then, a minute later, the team's leading scorer, Crystal David, connected on an assist from freshman forward Kirsteen Buchan. As Fiona MacDonald put it, "we began to find our rhythm late in the game, and by the end we had superior anticipation on the ball and much better execution (TheFoghorn)."
