    Baseball (1946-1950)
Coach Pete Newell has not yet announced his starting lineup, but the probable starting nine will include Frank Boland behind the plate, Ed Hanna on the Keystone sack, and Jerry Shaughnessey at second. Jerry Hollander and Pete Maloney are candidates for the shortstop berth and Johnny Rotar, captain of the Dons this year, will handle the hot corner.

However, Dippy Matteucci, reliable catcher, Jack Grealish, right fielder, and John Vick are expected to step in to carry the batting burden. The infield will probably line up with Vick on first, Pete Maloney on second, Johnny Dunn on short, and Al Masio on third. All are returning lettermen and regulars from last year's outfit with the exception of Dunn who comes up from the freshman unit (TheFoghorn).

Pete Maloney, a veteran and a senior, covered second base. Little Pete was a good pivot man on the double play and a better than average sticker (TheDon).
