Either Ed Hanna of Reno De Benedetti will start at first, Jerry Shaughnessy at second, Maloney at short, and Captain Ed Rotar at third. In the outfield, it will be Paul Schramka in center, with Pete Lommori in left, and John Vick in right.

The third inning saw the change of the contest however. Matteucci drew the first of four walks he was to ultimately get, and this time Hall blasted a fast ball 335 feet over the left field wall, giving the San Francisco contingent a 3-2 margin they were never to relinquish. Just to insure victory, Garcia doubled home second sacker Jerry Shaughnessy in the sixth, and Eddie Hanna crossed home with the final run on another bingle by Ed Garcia in the eighth. Hall with his two timely blows along with the superb chucking and clutch hitting of Garcia stood out.

Catcher Lou Landini started things off with a sharp single to center. Shaughnessy popped up, and Jack Shields gained life on the second sacker's error, and "Dippy" Matteucci popped a solo to left scoring Landini. After Hanna forced Shields at third Forrest Hall banged a double to deep left, tallying Matteucci and Hanna. With Hall stationed on second representing the tying run, John Vick who garnered two blows earlier, bounced out to end the contest. Jack Shields went the distance for the Dons giving up but five hits, while his teammates collected eight, five of them in the last frames (TheFoghorn).
