In the infield, at second, Tom Lounibus who has moved from shortstop to the pivot. At short, Fred Reid, whose bat is always active, at third, Tony Scoma, who likewise carries a good bat, and at catcher, Pete Santora whose power is awesome.
Saturday, in a more serene atmosphere, the Dons made up their annual Alumni game which had been rained out earlier in the year. John Pachetti and Jim Ross combined pitching talents in the first game for a 4-2 victory. Shortstop Tom Lounibus went 2 for 3 in the contest which included a home run. In the nightcap, USF put the offensive machine to work in a 15-5 rout. Gary Delagnes went 2 for 3 with a homer, Fred Reid 3 for 4 with a triple, and Dave Jones a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate, while Cal Godward and Jim Leoni shared the pitching chores (TheFoghorn).
