Five newly recruited freshmen will be added to the team for the 1996 season. Joining USF in the Fall are Sussanne Nord from Oakland, Erin Terbush from Santa Rosa, Katyellen Piazza from Santa Rosa, Willie Sanchez from Berkeley, and Amy Ostergaard from Anaheim.
Green sealed the win with a 15 yard goal at 67:11 on a double-assist from freshman Erin Terbush and sophomore Patricia Simons. However, the biggest play ofthe night came with under five minutes gone in the first half when Voiland saved a penalty kick by Montana's Sheralyn Fowler. "Before she got up there I said to myself 'just pick a side'," Voiland said. "I decided to dive left and she pretty much kicked it right to me."
After an intense midfield battle throughout the first half, sophomore striker Erin Terbush was able to break the scoreless tie with a diving header, while Kishandee Green volleyed in a second goal to put the game out of reach. The win increased the Dons' streak to four, while placing them in an early lead atop the WCC (TheFoghorn).
