WCAC Champions
From 1973 to 1974, Bob Gaillard led the USF Men's Basketball Team to a 19-9 season record that ended with the Dons third consecutive WCAC title. The Dons became the first team in WCAC history to win over 200 league games. The Dons were led by All-Americans Phil Smith and Kevin Restani, both who were eventually selected in the early rounds in the 1974 NBA Draft.

In the post-season, the Dons acquired runner-up status for the second consecutive year. After winning the first game of the Regionals against New Mexico 63-60, the Dons lost to UCLA, 83-60, bringing their season to an end.
