Bertram William Schaffer was born on July 16, 1930 in Berkeley, CA and attended Sacred Heart College Preparatory. He graduated from USF with a degree in Business Management in the class of 1952.

After graduation, he later worked for Traveler’s Insurance Co. He was a member of the Green and Gold Board, and was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame in 1991.
