Doug Farrell Lopas was born on February 26, 1911 in San Francisco, attended Lowell High School in the class of 1930, and graduated from USF in the class of 1936 with a Degree in Commerce.
He worked for the Parks and Recreation Department of the City and County of San Francisco for 32 years. He was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame in 1984. He was a Charter member of the San Francisco Horsemen's Association, Los Viajero, and the Venerables, a club comprised of coaches and referees in San Francisco. He was a member of the Old Timers' Baseball Association.
