Lindsay Warford

Lindsay Warford was born on January 8, 1911. He attended McClymonds High School where he played football under coach Elwood Hess, and was a member of the team that won the Oakland Athletic League Football Championship for three consecutive years from 1926 to 1929.
Warford attended the then Saint Ignatius College and played both baseball and football for the then Gray Fog. He was also a track pentathalon winner. Warford graduated in 1933 and became one of the members of the professional football team that was formed in San Francisco in 1934.
He served in the United States Navy in World War II as a Chief Petty Officer at the San Diego Naval Base. After his service, he became a salesman, and settled in Petaluma.
