Richard Augustine Vaccaro was born on January 3, 1904, in San Francisco, and attended the then Saint Ignatius College in the class of 1930. He was a member of the Student Body Council and the Skull and Sledge Club. He was a recipient of the Boyle Award. After graduation, he started a teaching career at Saint Ignatius College Preparatory, and was a member of the Dons Club.
