Todd Fischer was born on August 23, 1969 in Columbus, OH, was raised in Pleasanton, CA and attended his local Foothill High School. He attended USF from 1988 to 1992, and at 6’, 160lbs., was an accomplished golfer. As a freshman, he appeared in five tournaments overall, including the West Coast Conference. As a sophomore, he appeared in all ten USF tournaments and lowered his stroke average to 74.5, and finished with 8 rounds of par or better, three top-10 finishes and 7 top-20 finishes.
As a junior, he won the WCC Individual Championship in 1991, and earned an invitation to the NCAA West Regional where he finished third. As a senior, he was named to the Second Team All-American, after 7 top-ten finishes in 9 games. He took honors at the prestigious Western Intercollegiate Conference with a winning score of 209, the third-lowest in tournament history. With Fischer on the team, the Dons reached the NCAA Regionals. Overall, he was named to the All-West Coast Conference four times.
After graduation in 1993, he became a professional golfer, and played in the PGA, Nationwide and Web.com Tours. He won the 2002 Fort Smith Classic, had four 3rd-place showings on the PGA Tour at the 2003 Greater Hartford Open, the 2004 B.C. Open, the 2004 Valero Texas Open, and the 2005 Reno-Tahoe Open. He also won the 1998 Long Beach Open, the 1999 California State Open, the 2000 Utah Open and Long Beach Open, and the 2009 Northern California Open.
