William Emil Arata was both on November 18, 1907 in San Francisco, and attended the then Saint Ignatius College in the class of 1930. He graduated with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts. In 1933, he opened the Arata Pharmacy in the newly renovated Arata Building, formerly the Maynard Building, in Petaluma, CA. He was a member of the Druids, the Sons of Italy, and the Father’s Club of Saint Ignatius High School.
His son William Arata Jr. also attended USF in the class of 1957 and was active as a member of the USF Alumni Association.
