SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team picked up its third win in as many days, downing the Montana Grizzlies, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Golden Gate Park.
The Dons clinched the victory by jumping out to 4-1 lead behind a dominant win by freshman Andrea Ka and fellow freshman Sofia Holmberg.
USF (9-5, 1-2 WCC) is now 6-4 at Golden Gate Park on year, matching last season's home record and contributing to the team's overall win mark that's the best since the 2009-10 team posted 11 victories.
“This match gave us good momentum heading into three more matches next week,” said USF coach Hilary Somers. “It's important to take advantage of these home matches with three more matches next week, including a road trip to Southern California.”
The Dons return to the court to play host to the Colorado Buffaloes on Monday, March 25 at 1 p.m.
