STANFORD, Calif. -- San Francisco's men's golf team shot a final round 296 (+16) and finished 17th in the 18-team field at The Goodwin held at Stanford Golf Course.
The Dons' 296 on Sunday was their highest round of the 54-hole event, following rounds of 293 and 291 over the first two days.
Stanford won the team event with a 25-under score of 815. The Cardinal shot a final round 266 (-14) on Sunday to pull away from USC and UCLA, which tied for second at 835 (-5).
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers claimed medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 196 (-14). Rodgers closed with a 6-under 64 to earn a six shot victory over Rico Hoey of USC (202; -8).
USF's Cory McElyea, who began the final round tied for sixth, slipped down the leader board into a tie for 24th place following a final round 74.
Jobim Carlos, who turned in the team's lowest round of the day with a 1-over 71, tied for 34th at 215 (+5).
Sebastian Crookall-Nixon tied for 48th at 217 (+7) after a closing round 72.
Emil Liljeroth shot a final round 79 and finished 90th at 237 (+27) while Alex Ricciardelli finished 91st at 243 (+33) after shooting an 84 on Sunday.
USF will return to action at the WCC Championships, set for April 14-16 at the Gold Mountain Country Club in Bremerton, Wash.
