Dons Compete In Quarterfinals At Nor Cal Invitational

Stanford, Calif.- The Dons competed in the pairs quarterfinals at the Nor Cal Invitational facing teams from the Pacific, Stanford and California.

Although the Dons did not make an opportunity to advance in the tournament, they played competitively.

Courtney Sabahi and Valentina Zaloznik went three sets against Lexi Elman and Kat Schulz, the top pair of the Pacifc, but came short, 19-21, 21-19, 15-9. Jessica Gaffney and Sara Staengle ended their winning streak after a tough loss against Lauren Birks and Brittany Howard of Stanford.

Kiara McKibben and Katarina made California's pair Sammy Furlan and Ashley Johsnon work for their slot in the semi's with a close match in the first set 28-26 to fall 21-14. Jessica Keenan and Oluoma Okaro put up a fight against Inanna Eshoo and Katie Regalia to be overcome by the California duo, 21-18, 21-17.

Next up for the Volley Dons will be the California Consortium in Larkspur, California on March 13 at 2:30 p.m.
