Women's Golf

WGOLF | Get to Know Pearl Rojanapeansatith

Freshman Pearl Rojanapeansatith has appeared in all four tournaments for the Dons this season.  The native of Bangkok, Thailand has played in all 12 rounds, with an average score of 77.3.  In four tournaments, she's carded 20 birdies. 
 
"Pearl hails from Bangkok, Thailand bringing an awesome international flair to our squad!" said head coach Sara Doell. "Pearl has positive and happy energy that is infectious - a great quality of a teammate. She works hard, plays hard and has a lot of fun in all that she does. Pearl played in every event for us this fall and as a freshman that is significant. She is a ball striker and is very creative on the golf course which is a great part of her success."
 
We had Pearl sit down and do a quick Q&A as the Dons get ready for the spring season.
 
Golf :
1. When did you start playing golf and how?
Pearl:  I started playing golf when I was five. I started because my dad introduced me to golf and because my friends at that time was playing golf as an extracurricular activity so I joined them and it became an important part of my life while my friends all stopped.
 
2. What was the deciding factor in why you came to USF to play on the women's golf team?
PR: I felt that USF can offer me both good academics and golf. The team looked pretty strong and both the city and weather was very nice. So, I decided to join after being offered a scholarship in less than two weeks.
 
3. What is your favorite memory of being a Don?
PR: Going to basketball and soccer games and cheering my heart out for the DONS!!!!
 
4. Best USF golf travel story?
PR: On my first ever USF golf tournament at Colorado, Joan and I were caught by Coach and Devin eating ice cream just before having dinner with the team. (every day cheat day!)
 
5. Your dream foursome would include who?
PR: Niall Horan, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy.
 
6. What is your favorite golf course?
PR: Omni La costa.
 
7. Have you ever had a hole-in- one? If yes, give us the details!
PR: Five – four in Thailand.  The latest one was at the practice round for junior
worlds in 2012.
 
Personal:
1. What city are you from?
PR: From Bangkok, Thailand.
 
2. Do you have any siblings? If yes, what are their names/ ages?
PR: One younger sister, Mint, age 17, rugby player in high school.
 
3. Do you play any other sports?
PR: I used to be in middle school basketball and tee ball team.
 
4. What are you majoring in here at USF?
PR: Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
 
5. What is your dream job/ career?
PR: Turning professional and playing on the LPGA with my favorite players on
tour. Also, I want to create my own hotel and golf course.
 
Favorites:
1. Food?
PR: Korean BBQ, Thai food!!!!, Sushi.
 
2. TV Show?
Supernatural, Games of Throne, Stranger Things.
 
3. Book?
PR: The Energy Bus.
 
4. Movie?
PR: We are the Millers, Dear Rosie, She's the Man.
 
5. Professional Athlete:
PR: Jason Day, Ariya Jutanukarn.
 
6. City/ Place to Visit?
PR: Japan, Korea, Krabi (Thailand).

PR: Undercaf, fireplace, Library first floor.

PR: Soccer, basketball, badminton, tennis.
