COACHES CORNER
"Last weekend, the match was a good measuring stick for my girls because we played the whole game instead of a clinch-clinch format. It gave us a better feel as to how close the team is to breaking through. We know we have to play good doubles because it will be a key part in both of the matches."
On Pacific:
"This match will be the kind of competition that will be where we want to be. The last WCC team we played, it proved to be more of an upper echelon team. With Pacific, if we can get the healthy bodies on the court, the match will be a dog fight."
On Saint Mary's:
"With this match, it will be a back-to-back situation which, at this state, has not be conducive to our team, but we are going to give it all we got. In the past, it has been a strong rivalry. Saint Mary's may have the upper hand on us historically, but we have had a couple nice wins against the program. We are up for the challenge."
USF HISTORY
Vs. Pacific:
In the past few years, the Dons have only seen a few losses from the Tigers. In 2016, Pacific kept USF to a 4-0 shutout. The Dons most recent victory was last season when they won the match just one point ahead, 4-3.
Vs. Saint Mary's:
The Dons had trouble the last two season trying to best the Gaels in a match. Each matchup ended in a 4-0 shutout over USF. The Dons were last victorious over Saint Mary's in 2015 when they clinched the match 4-3.
UP NEXT
The Dons are back in action on Friday, Mar. 30 with a match against Gonzaga. Match time is at 12 p.m.
