Behind the Mask | Dons Spotlight on Shanna Dos Santos

SAN FRANCISCO -- Shanna Dos Santos of the University of San Francisco women's tennis team closed out her junior year last weekend against Loyola Marymount. Dos Santos, a native from Orlando, Fla., and her team will not be participating in the West Coast Conference Championships.

In this week's spotlight on Dos Santos, featured in the latest episode of USF's cable television show "Behind the Mask", she talks about the importance of her family, her time playing in a tennis academy and what keeps her motivated.

Dos Santos opened her third season as a Don with a win over Dominican on Jan. 19 where she and doubles mate Amber Del Rosario recorded a match win to help secure the doubles point. Dos Santos earned her first singles on Feb. 17 win over UC Davis followed by another one over Academy of Art on Mar. 4. The last singles win from Dos Santos was recorded on Mar. 31 against Portland that lead to the eventual victory for the Dons.

The spotlight will debut today, Apr. 25, at 4 p.m. and will re-air at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. tonight. There will be a re-air tomorrow, Apr. 26, at 5:30 p.m. followed by another one on Saturday, Apr. 28 at 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
