SAN DIEGO -- The University of San Francisco women's tennis team faced San Diego at the Hogan Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. In a clinch-clinch format, the Dons were unable to get going on the day, dropping the match 0-4.
Anna Sokiran and Shanna Dos Santos started doubles with a 0-6 loss. Emily Maxfield and Mya Bui managed to score a couple of set points in their match, before ultimately falling to the pair from San Diego, 2-6. The doubles point was clinched by the Toreros, while the last match went unfinished.
Both Dos Santos and Sokiran were unable to secure a win for the Dons in their singles matches, falling 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-3 respectively. Margarita Treyes fought hard in her match, bringing her first set into a tiebreaker point, but fell in both of her sets. The rest of singles went unfinished.

"We didn't get off to the clean start we were looking for today in doubles. We tried to rebound in singles and gave it our best effort, but San Diego was too strong in the end." — Assistant coach Sean Dizon.
