DAVIS, Calif. — The University of San Francisco's women's tennis team collected its third-straight win, Saturday afternoon, when
Amber Del Rosario,
Emily Maxfield,
Margarita Treyes,
Alexa Meyer, and
Amber Del Rosario all fought hard in singles play to give the Dons' a 4-3 victory, at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
San Francisco drew in the first win at the No. 6 spot when
Amber Del Rosario cruised past Skyler Holm, 6-1, 6-4. The Aggies then delivered a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win over
Mya Bui. UC Davis took a 3-1 team lead, but San Francisco still carried its momentum when Maxfield escaped with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sara Tsukamoto. Treyes and Meyer both took its competition to three sets. Meyer fell in the first set, 4-6 but answered back with a 6-4, 6-4 straight set victory over Davis's Kristina Breisacher. Treyes made it interesting after she found success in her first set, 6-4 then falling 4-6 in her second. But, Treyes's final set put the cherry on top for San Francisco when she won 6-3 over Aggies' Isabella Ebbe.
San Francisco struggled in collecting wins in doubles play, but the Dons responded after they took over the match solely in singles competition.
