SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The University of San Francisco women's tennis team begins West Coast Conference action on Friday versus Pacific, followed by Saint Mary's College on Saturday at the Olympic Club.

About San Francisco
  • The Dons are currently 7-5 overall and 6-4 at home.
  • USF looks to return to action this week, looking to build momentum fresh off its 4-3 win over Nevada on Saturday. 
  • Junior Emily Maxfield is unstoppable at No. 2 with an undefeated 11-0 singles record. Right behind her is sophomore Mya Bui who is 8-4 at No. 1.
  • The No. 1 doubles pairing of Bui and Maxfield also lead the team in with a 6-2 record.
  • Senior Margarita Treyes has clinched four tough matches for the Dons this season: UC Davis, Sacramento State, Louisiana Lafayette and Nevada. Treyes is 6-5 at No. 3 (3-4) and 4 (3-1) spots. 
  • Friday afternoon will be the 13th matchup between the Dons and the Tigers dating back to the 2005-06 season. All-time, USF and Pacific are 6-6 overall. The last time the Dons defeated the Tigers was on April 1, 2017, when the Dons battled in a 4-3 victory at the Olympic Club. 
  • Saturday afternoon will be the 16th matchup between USF and Saint Mary's. The Gaels own a 14-1 advantage in the series that dates back to 2005-06. The last time the Dons beat the Gaels was on April 11, 2015, 4-3. 
About Pacific
  • The Tigers are 3-6 overall and 1-4 on the road.
  • Pacific closed out its non-conference season 1-1, sweeping Nevada 4-0 and falling to Utah State 3-4. 
  • The Tigers are 16-17 in doubles competition. The doubles pairing of Dohee Lee and Jacquie Tan are 6-3 in the No. 1 (3-3) and No. 2 (3-0) spots. Anna Ramos Vinolas and Karina Vyrlan are on a four game winning streak at No. 3, 4-0.
  • Pacific is 30-42 in singles play. Maya Lopez and Anneroos Nederstigt lead the team with a 6-6 record. Lopez collects most of her wins at the No. 5 spot with a 4-3 record, Nederstigt is dominant at No. 1 with a 3-3 record. 
About Saint Mary's
  • The Gaels are currently 3-7 and 2-5 on the road. 
  • SMC capped off its non-conference season with victories over San Jose State (4-0) and UC Davis (6-1).
  • Sophomore Mariia Kozyreva leads the Gaels with a 5-2 record at the No. 1 spot. 
  • In doubles, the Gaels have secured eight wins, as the No. 1 duo Hind Abdelouahid and Kozyreva lead with a 3-1 record.
