MGOLF | Widing Earns Ping All-Region Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second time in his stellar career, junior men's golfer Tim Widing has been named to the Ping All-West Region as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) on Saturday. Widing last earned all-region honors in 2017 following a breakout freshman campaign.

The Ping All-Region team is composed of players from across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central, and West.

Widing wrapped up the 2019 season finishing one stroke shy of advancing to the NCAA National Championship after a terrific showing at the Pullman Regional.  He became just the third player in USF history to earn First Team All-WCC honors three consecutive years.  He ended the season with seven top-10 finishes including back-to-back third place finishes at the WCC Championships and the Pullman Regional.  He recorded 18 rounds of par or better, including three-straight rounds under par at the Pullman Regional, finishing the event with the 12-under 198.  The 198 was the third best 54-hole score at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course, the site of the Pullman Regional.
