SAN FRANCISCO – University of San Francisco men's golfer
Matthew Anderson will be competing at the RBC Canadian Open this week. Anderson earned an amateur exception after winning an RBC Canadian Open Qualifier last week.
The Canadian Open tees off on Thursday at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. Anderson qualified for the Canadian Open by winning the qualifier with a 5-under 67 at the Elm Ridge Country Club on Monday, May 27.
Anderson carded six birdies in the qualifier and overcame a bogey on the first hole to win by one stroke to earn the right to play in in the Canadian Open.
The field includes notable PGA Tour players such as Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kucher, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Bubba Watson as well as others.
All four rounds will be televised with the opening two rounds being televised from 3-6 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel. Saturday and Sunday's rounds will be televised from 1-2:45 on the Golf Channel and 3-6 p.m. on CBS.
