WTN | Dons Defeat Nevada, 4-2

SAN FRANCISCO - After dropping the doubles point in today's match, the University of San Francisco women's tennis team came back in singles to defeat Nevada 4-2 at the Olympic Club. The Dons are now 4-3 on the season.
"The Dons were able to respond back and answer the call in singles today," said assistant coach Sean Dizon. "We have talked about what it will take as a team to be successful this season and the team answered the bell."
Mya Bui and Emily Maxfield started doubles with a 6-2 win but Nevada was able to even it up with 6-2 win over Arianna Capogrosso and Rita Colyer. The doubles point ultimately went to the Wolf Pack when Alicia Yue and Chiho Mushika fell on their court 6-4.
Capogrosso and Bui were able to give the Dons the lead when they won their singles matches 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-3, respectively. Nevada answered with a win on court No. 3, but USF regained the lead when Maxfield topped her opponent 6-2, 7-5. Mushika clinched the 4-2 match win for the Dons when she finished her match with a 7-5, 6-3 win.
