USF Impresses in Colorado, Finishes Third as a Team

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Finishing with one of their best group performances in recent memory, the University of San Francisco women's golf team placed third in the final standings of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate Invitational. Notably, two Dons also finished individually in the top ten- Toni Sottile (tied for seventh) and Riana Mission (tied for ninth).

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:

Enjoying success as a unit in each round, the Dons finished in fourth after the first two rounds before climbing to a third-place finish in the final round on Sunday. Overall, the Dons shot 1-over-865 as a team, marking the lowest three round total for USF under head coach Sara Doell. Impressively, this tournament also marked the first time the Dons had finished in the top three as a team since the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Oct. 2019.
Individually, Toni Sottile led the pack for USF as she shot a 3-under-213 across the three rounds, which placed her tied for seventh place in the final individual standings. Close behind, Riana Mission tied for ninth by shooting 2-under-214 during the tournament.
Continuing her successful start to the fall, Hannah Zeman finished tied for twenty-eighth after shooting a 3-over-219 total. Just five spots behind her, Annika Borrelli tied for thirty-third place with a 4-over-220. Rounding out the group, Jade Siphomsay tied for fifty-second after shooting a 10-over-226 in her three rounds.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH DOELL:
"I am so proud of this team and how they played the last three days. After coming off of a tough finish in Monterey last week, we worked really hard this week and it showed. Every single player had an excellent round or a personal best in this tournament. This is the lowest three round total that we have had since I have been a coach at USF! It is so enjoyable to see how our hard work is coming to fruition."

Closing out the month of October, USF will compete in The Clash at Boulder Creek (hosted by Northern Arizona) from Sunday, Oct. 24 through Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Henderson, Nev. Live results will be available via the team's schedule page.
