RENO, Nev. – Continuing their dominance, the University of San Francisco men's golf team placed second overall as a team at the Wolf Pack Classic (hosted by University of Nevada) as all five of the Dons placed in the final top 25 individually.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Putting together yet another all-around team performance, Alex Chin and Matthew Anderson led the way for USF as both finished tied for fourth overall by shooting 4-under-212. For Chin, the Pleasanton native placed as the top individual for the Dons for the second straight tournament to begin the season after tying for twelfth with a 9-under-207 at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
- Just a few spots behind, Toby Briggs impressed by tying for eighth with a 1-under-215. Rounding out the team, Soren Lind tied for twenty-third with a 4-over-220 while Christoffer Palsson finished tied for twenty-fifth with a 5-over-221.
- Making his first appearance of the fall, Harry Brown also competed as an individual for USF, finishing tied for forty-eighth with an 11-over-227.
- Notably, the Dons shot 10-under-854 as a team across their three rounds in Reno, marking the seventh consecutive regular season tournament in which USF has finished in the top three as a team, dating back to the Orange County Classic (hosted by Cal State Fullerton) on Feb. 8 + 9, 2021. Additionally, the Dons have placed in the top two in six of the seven tournaments in this streak while also winning four of the seven overall.
CATCHING UP WITH COACH KENNEDY:
"What a tough week to battle elements… I thought we were very good given the conditions. It hurts to come up a bit short, but we have a lot left to show. This was another successful week for our program."
