TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The USF Dons' athletics family is ecstatic to congratulate sophomore Ruby Smee for being among the 2021 NCAA Cross Country All-Americans after finishing at number 34 overall at this year's National Championship hosted by Florida State. Smee had a tremendous debut season in NCAA cross country and capped it off by finishing in the top 40 among the best athletes in the nation.
Smee came in with an overall time of 19:53.6 in Tallahassee competing against the very best and showed that she's one of the best cross country athletes currently competing. She dominated WCC competition throughout the season finishing in the top two on four separate occasions, including individual wins in three of the Dons' five events this fall.
"I couldn't be more happy for Ruby today," USF head coach Tim Riley said. "To come here in her first NCAA Cross Country season and walk away with an All-American award is very special. She couldn't have done it without the support of her mum and dad back in Tassie and especially her teammates in San Francisco, so thank you Dons family!"
