
BVB | Dalla Vecchia and Pemberton Earn All-Academic Honors

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Two members of the University of San Francisco beach volleyball team have earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Anna Dalla Vecchia and junior Tanner Pemberton were both named to the WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention Team. For Dalla Vecchia this is her second all-academic honor, having been named to the honorable mention team for volleyball which was announced this morning.
To qualify, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore standing, own a minimum 3.20 grade point average and be a starter or an important reserve, having participated in at least 50% of the institution's completed contests.
Dalla Vecchia, a communications major with a 3.21 GPA, played primarily with the 1s for the Dons in 2021, she finished the year partnered with Catie Cronister, the duo went 2-1 at the WCC Beach Volleyball Championships. Concluding with a thrilling three set win over Pacific's top pair.
Pemberton, a biology major with a 3.34 GPA, earns all-academic honors for the first time in her career. The junior played mostly in the 2s spot, but also spent time with Cronister in the top rotation for the Dons. At the WCC Championships went 1-2 with partner Greta Corti, which included a three-set win over Portland's 2s to clinch the match for USF.
Like the indoor program, the Dons' beach team excelled both on the court and in the classroom. The beach program finished with a 3.78 GPA as a team. 18 players finished with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Sara Denham and Orsula Staka finished with perfect 4.0 GPAs in the fall.
