WTEN | Four Dons Earn WCC All-Academic Honors

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Four members of the University of San Francisco women's tennis team earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Mya Bui, Arianna Capogrosso, Rita Colyer, and Chiho Mushika all earned honorable mention honors. This is the third time Bui had earned honorable mention accolades, and second time for Colyer.
To qualify, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore standing, own a minimum 3.20 grade point average and be a starter or an important reserve, having participated in at least 50% of the institution's completed contests.
Bui, an entrepreneurship major with a 3.67 GPA, took home all-academic honors in 2019 and 2020. Bui played primarily in the 1s in the singles, going out a winner with a thrilling victory of Santa Clara in the regular season finale.
Capogrosso and Colyer add more awards to their collection, the duo earned All-WCC honorable mention honors in doubles play earlier this year. Capogrosso is a psychology major with a 3.91 GPA, it is her first time winning an all-academic award.
For Colyer, this marks the second consecutive year she has earned all-academic honors. The marketing major with a 3.80 GPA earned honorable mention honors last year as well.
Mushika, a kinesiology major with a 3.33 GPA takes home honorable mention honors for the first time in her career.
The women's tennis team sported a team GPA of 3.50 in the fall, with eight players earning at least a 3.0.
